Brooklyn, N.Y. - The ACPHS Womens Soccer Team extended their unbeaten record to 10-0 (4-0) Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 win against NCAA Division III Pratt Institute.
Julia Roemer (Latham, N.Y. / Shaker High School), who missed the Panthers 4-3 overtime win against Bryant & Stratton - Albany Wednseday night, led the way with two second half goals which allowed her side to see out the win against the Cannoneers on their senior night.
The evenly fought match headed into halftime goalless, but a goal quickly into the second half gave ACPHS all the momentum they needed to find the win. Roemer's second goal came within 15 minutes of the first and allowed the Panthers to sit back and control the game. With just over 10 minutes remaining, the Cannoneers responded with a goal of their own.
Each team ended with 15 shots, forcing both goalkeepers into action often. Senior
Gabriella Evangelista (Warwick, N.Y. / Warwick Valley High School) ended the game with six saves.
Also worth noting is another strong performance from the Panthers midfield.
Mayle Lupia-Eannace (Barneveld, N.Y. / Holland Patent High School) and
Shannon Donnelly (Delmar, N.Y. / Bethlehem Central) pulled the strings yet again, each collecting an assist.
The undefeated Panthers will hit the road again on Wednesday October 6th, putting their perfect record on the line for the 11th time this season against Word of Life Institute.
