ACPHS Men's Soccer took their first lead of the season on Sunday, but we're unable to hold it as they fell 2-1 to the Word of Life/Davis Huskies on Sunday. The Panthers record now stands at 0-3 in this abbreviated spring season.

Albany looked lively in the first half, once again soaking up pressure but unlike their previous fixtures proving a real threat on the counter. The teams went into the break tied at 0, but with the Huskies holding the advantage in attempts at 12-2.

The Panthers scored their first of the season through freshman Ryan Prescott just after halftime, thanks to some hard work on the forward press. Albany squeezed Word of Life into a tough spot before Prescott caused a turnover and lobbed Huskie keeper Colin Smith for his first collegiate goal.

ACP's advantage lasted about 25 minutes before Huskie forward Thiago Nascimento beat Panther keeper Ryan Hobson with a left-footed shot from 18 yards out. Word of Life's Hansen Crick grabbed the winner five minutes later, handing Albany their third straight defeat.

The Panthers are back in action next Saturday against Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse, who they lost to earlier this season 4-0. Live stats can be found here at acphsathletics.com,
