The ACPHS Women's Soccer Team won their first game of the 2021 spring season on Sunday by a score of 8-0 over the Word of Life/Davis Huskies. The last time they took the field was October 27th, 2019.
Despite being out of action for 533 days, Albany didn't need any time to shake off the rust as they bossed this one from start to finish. Freshman forward
Julia Roemer netted her first collegiate goal in the ninth minute off of an assist from
Emily D'Abrosca and the Panthers were off.
Shannon Donnelly,
Emily Sager and
Raegan Wendel each grabbed their first goals of the season before halftime and the game was truly out of reach. Roemer would go on to complete her hat trick, with D'Abrosca grabbing two late goals to round out the scoring. Roemer had 14 attempts in total, putting 10 if them on target.
Dameree Corina played all 90 minutes in goal, making one save.
The Panthers will look to build on this performance next Saturday when they host Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse. Live stats can be found here at acphsathletics.com.
