Concord, N.H. - Saturday afternoon, the ACPHS men's soccer team fell to (6-4-1) after losing against New Hampshire Technical Institute 1-5 in their final regular season game.
First period breakdown
Right out the gate, NHTI scored 12 minutes into the match – eight minutes later, New Hampshire extended the lead to 3-0. Defender Jay Carlson (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) scored the one and only point of the day for ACPHS with 14 minutes remaining on the clock.
Second period recap
Things did not turn around for the traveling Panthers coming out of the half. NHTI racked up two more goals, and ACPHS struggled to maintain possession – failing to put more points on the board.
Who stood out?
All players contributed to this impressive performance. However, the player who impressed for the Panthers most was Carlson – scoring his third goal of the season. Carlson has proved he has the knowledge and skill it takes to propel this team come playoff time, despite only being a sophomore.
What was said after the game?
Coach John Adeseko shared his judgment of today's match, "We have to forget about this game and just get back to training. Tough loss, we learned from it, and we will continue to grow as we inch closer to the playoffs."
When do they play next?
The Panthers will try and continue riding this momentum as they now await the final standings for the YSCC Championships.
