Men's Soccer Falls Short in Season Opener

Box Score

Delhi, N.Y. – The ACPHS Men's Soccer team fell short in their matchup against SUNY Delhi - Thursday afternoon 1-2, in their season debut.

ACPHS came out aggressive to start the game, with an early header three minutes in from Senior Forward Charles Middleton (Syracuse, N.Y.), assisted by Senior Midfielder Gavin Carvey (Cato, N.Y.). Despite the highlight of the game, the Panthers struggled to hold on after 45 minutes of play.

In the second period, ACPHS remained scoreless – they went on to get outshot 2-13. Forward Michael Williams Jr. eventually put the game away for the Broncos scoring with 19 minutes left to play.

After the game, Coach John Adeseko voiced his opinion on how to keep his team on the right track heading into the home opener, "We have to just keep pushing forward. We got tired in the second half. Right now, fitness is our biggest opponent, but we will keep working and getting better. Our heads are up, and we are ready to get back to the training ground."

The Panthers will look to get back in the win column with the support of their fans when they host Fulton Montgomery Community College Thursday, September 8th.
