Men's Soccer Struggles in Troy

Troy, N.Y. – The ACPHS Men's Soccer team dropped to 2-2 after losing on the road to Hudson Valley Community College 1-5 Thursday evening.
Early on, the Panthers held their own, limiting the Vikings to just one score. Senior Anes Bostandzic (Utica, N.Y.) scored a penalty kick for ACPHS halfway through the first half, the only score of the day for the Panthers.

Despite being tied at halftime – in the second 45 minutes of play, ACPHS fell apart, scoring zero points and allowing four more goals. Vikings Forward Phenyo Ward put the game out of reach, earning back-to-back goals late in the period.

After the loss – Coach John Adeseko shared his thoughts on the game, "Honestly, once we lost Chuck early in the first half, we lost composure, and he sat most of the game. Once we got him back in, things changed for us offensively. We just couldn't throw a rock in the ocean tonight. There were a lot of positives to take from today, and we've got bigger fish fry heading into the next game, which is a conference match – a game that matters."

The Panthers will look to get back in the win column when they host Central Maine Community College Sunday, September 18th.
