Amherst, MA - The Panthers headed East this week for a preview of the YSCC Conference course at Hampshire College for the Founding Tree Invitational. The deep field included a number of conference and USCAA opponents.
On the women's side,
Kayleigh Simpson (Utica, NY) made a big improvement on her season best, pacing the Panthers in a time of 30:42. Debutant
Sopheary Te (Phoenixville, PA) and
Morgan Scarzafava (Middletown, NY) were next across the line finishing within seconds of each other in 31:03 and 31:06.
Amalia Nunes (Poughkeepsie, NY) and another debutant, Giselle Campbell (Liverpool, NY) rounded out the scoring Panthers who finished 2nd amongst YSCC competition.
On the Men's side, it was the 4th different runner to pace the Panthers in as many races. This time it was
Tyler Buffolino (Ridge, NY) who took led the group taking minutes off his season best.
Dylan Wang (Glenmont, NY) finished next with a big improvement on his PR.
Harrison Matthews (Peru, NY) was 3rd for the Panthers, and
Kevin Andrews (Buffalo, NY) was 4th, beating his best 8k mark.
Andy Tran (Vietnam) rounded out the scoring group going sub-40. Debutant Matthew Shakow (Saratoga Springs, NY) and season-debutant,
David Martin (Babylon, NY) also put in strong performances to help the Panthers to a 3rd place finish amongst YSCC competition.
Your Panthers head south next weekend with PRs in mind as they take on the Highlander Invite hosted by NJIT.
