Five Panthers Get All Conference Recognition

Albany, NY - The conference tournaments have come and gone, and the Panthers strike some recognition. The Panthers saw five of their own get all conference awards for the season they put together in their respective sports. 

Kathryn Braun - Kathryn was named as an honorable mention for the YSCC this year in the inaugural ACPHS Women's volleyball season. Kathryn had a great start to her Panthers career, only being a sophomore. She led the Panthers in assists, totaling 59 on the season, and ranked second in digs with 45. Her assists helped put her fourth in the conference in assists per set with 2.46. Being that it was the Panthers first women's volleyball season, and Braun only being a sophomore one thing is certain, she will be getting many more assists in the future. 

Jay Carlson - Jay was named to the YSCC All-Conference first team for the amazing season he was able to put together this year. Jay had a career high in goals in one season, leading the Panthers in goals scored as a team. He was second in the conference with 18 goals on the year, and also was able to rack up 6 assists. He had a career year in multiple stats, and put his name in the record book a handful of times. He comes out of this season 2nd for most goals in a season, tied 4th for career goals, and tied for 1st for most goals in a single game. 

Michael Dean - Michael was named as an honorable mention for the YSCC this year for Men's soccer. Dean has been a very versatile player for the Panthers, playing multiple positions in his time for the Panthers. This year he was a helpful force on the back line to help the Panthers success. He put up a goal on the season on his senior night back in October, but has been shutting opponents down on defense. Coach Adeseko said this about Dean on Senior night that led towards the nomination, "He doesn't complain, he doesn't get mad or angry, he just plays, plays hard, effective and efficient. His versatility on the field is unrivaled." 

Julia Roemer - Julia was one of two Panthers named to the YSCC All-Conference first team for Women's soccer this year. Roemer has been a major offesive threat for the Panthers throughout her whole career, and that was still prevalent this season. Julia led the Panthers in goals this year with 23 goals which also put her second in the conference and also was tied sixth in the conference with 5 assists. Her efforts this year have led her being third in career goals, and tied first and third for most goals in a single game. Her offensive presence for the Panthers has been very dominant this year.

Ka'ena Kehano - Ka'ena was the second Panther named to the YSCC All-Conference First team for Women's soccer. Kehano had a career year on the offensive end this year. She had a streak of games where she had two plus goals in each of those games. Kehano's offensive presence led to her being tied third in the conference for goals with 14 and tied fourth for assists with 6. Her offensive level stepped up to a new level that will continue to increase each year for the rest of the time here at ACPHS.
