Boston, MA - The Panthers took advantage of one of the finest indoor track venues in the country with some amazing individual performances. The Track at New Balance was the stage for 5 new Panther bests amongst a host of new PRs and rookie debuts.
A trio of Panther ladies set new records on the day with Kayleigh Simpson taking another 9 seconds off her Mile record. Samantha Marion re-broke her Weight throw record with a new mark of 9.94m, and Dhatri Sangasani broke a 7-year-old Triple Jump record with a mark of 9.91m. The Panthers had a number of debuts, especially in the sprinting and throwing events. Fellow rookies, Ka'ena Kehano, and Jacqueline Ngyuen both started the season with strong efforts in the 200, while Aditi Rathor and Keyanna Clark goth their first marks of the year in the weight throw. Marina Duszak season also kickstarted her senior season with a veteran performance in 3000m.
Leading off the action for the men was Ethan Nigro who rebroke his own record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.87 to finish 2nd overall amongst some strong club and college competition. Nigro would then go on to land the first 20ft long jump effort in Panther history with a 6.12m jump. The Panthers loaded up in the sprint events with debuts from Alex Nolin, Drew Miller, T.J. Hudson, and Anthony Ognev debuting in the 60m dash, with Nolin and Miller coming back for the 200. Leading the line for the Panthers was Ryan Haak who finished 2nd overall in a field that featured an Olympic Qualifier and current Honduras National Team competitor. Michael Dean debuted in the Men's 800m, while fellow rookies, Logan Zara, and the aforementioned Anthony Ognev got their first Weight Throw marks of the season.
