Panthers Tune Up at UAlbany

Albany, NY - A short trip across town to the site of last year's USCAA Invitational served as the final tune up  for your Panthers to prepare for this year's event.
The throws group led off the meet, hoping to better some marks, and move up the USCAA rankings. Richard Serafin hit two PRs, moving up to 7th in the USCAA in the hammer throw with a 28.13m effort, and up to 12th in the Discus with a near 30m effort. Freshman Logan Zara bettered his Hammer mark to move up to 15th in the USCAA with an effort over 20m. Howie Kelley moved up a few spaces to 19th in the discus with a 27m throw.
Audrey DeGraw, Samantha Marion, and Keyanna Clark all PRed and moved up the rankings in the javelin throw. Jaiah Barrett hit a new PR in the javelin, and also added a new PR in the Hammer throw, moving up to 18th in the USCAA in that event. Aditi Rathor his PRs in both javelin and hammer as well, moving up to 17th in the latter event.
In the jumps, Ethan Nigro pushed his PR and school record in the Long jump to 6.52m, the first jump over 21 feet in school history. Timothy Hudson jumped onto the USCAA leaderboard and school record books in the High Jump with a 1.55m effort. In the Pole Vault, Karol Wroblewski debuted, clearing two heights and setting a personal best of 2.30m.
On the track, the Panthers grabbed a ton of new PRs, first Erica Scholl and Ayo Momoh both grabbed huge new PRs in the 100 and 200m the former going sub-29 seconds for the first time in her career in the 200. Dhatri Sangasani, took a week off hurdles and set a personal best in the open 100. Ka'ena Kehano set new college bests in the 200 and 400. Morgan Scarzafava hit new PRs in the 400 and 800, moving herself into the top 20 in the 400. Kayleigh Simpson dropped a few more seconds off her college best 800 time as she continues to regain her fine rookie form.  Marina Duszak dropped an incredible 50 seconds off her 5k performance two weeks ago to find herself in the top-10 in the USCAA in that event.
On the men's side, Ryan Haak tied his own school record in the 100m, but bettered his record in the 200, going sub-22 seconds for the first time in school history. Sam Rowley went sub-24 seconds for his best career mark in the 200. Charles Middleton dropped new PRs in the 200 and 400m races, while Michael Dean debuted and found himself 5th in the USCAA with a great performance in the 400 hurdles. Tyler Buffolino and Andy Tran both got debut races in the Men's 5000m to close a great day of performances.
Your Panthers close the season next Saturday at the USCAA National Invitational hosted by Hampshire College in Springfield, MA
