Albany, NY - The USCAA Cross Country National Championships were held in Pennsylvania over the weekend, and while ACPHS didn't send anyone to compete this year, the Panthers still had a runner winning an award. Daniel Le, a senior on the team, was named the 2024 USCAA Cross Country Student Athlete of the Year.
 
Le is a senior in the Doctorate of Pharmacy program with an outstanding GPA.  He is a peer tutor for 8 classes and is a brother of the Ro Pi Phi fraternity as the chapter's historian and corresponding scribe for alumni outreach. But that's not all he does on campus - he is a member of the ACPHS Student Government Association as well as the American Pharmacist's Association.  

Off campus, he interns at the Albany Stratton Veteran Affairs Medical Center, working with patients to treat and manage kidney failure. Through Ro Pi Phi, he has coordinated multiple Blood Pressure Bingo events where he travels to local senior centers to both play bingo and promote good cardiovascular health. 

In addition to all that Le does in his community, he also participates in the ACPHS Peer Mentor program where he helps with incoming freshman and transfer students to help them have as smooth a transition as possible. 

Daniel is known for his many roles in the community, but despite his busy schedule, he still finds time to compete. Participating in 7 races this season, he has worked hard to set a new PR in the 8000M race by over 3 minutes!

Head coach Samson Dikeman had the following to say about Le, "I'm extremely happy for Daniel. He's had a profound impact on our team and the school. I've been really impressed with his work ethic since he joined us. He's an exemplary student athlete and very deserving of the honor."
