Amherst, MA - The Panthers traveled to Hampshire College to participate in the Founding Tree Invitational and ran a whole bunch of season bests.
The women kicked off the meet with a 6K run in a deep field, but still managed to finish 6th overall.
Ophelia Breen (Peru, NY) led the way with a time of 25:47, the 6th best overall. Next up after Breen was
Krystal Ogoke and
Giselle Campbell running times of 35:48 and 36:13, season bests for the two Panthers. In addition to the season bests, the meet also saw the debut of freshman Katie Taylor who ran a time of 50:00.
After the women ran, the men took off in an 8K race filled with season bests from everybody.
Tyler Buffolino (Ridge, NY) led the way clocking in at 31:37. After Buffolino,
Kevin Andrews (Buffalo, NY) finished at 35:19 followed by
Andy Tran (Vietnam) and
Dylan Wang (Glenmont, NY) with times of 36:20 and 37:41.
Daniel Le and
David Martin (Babylon, NY) then crossed the line with times of 40:01 and 48:11 to give the Panthers an 11th place finish, the highest of the conference.
The week off last week paid off for the Panthers as both sides saw numerous season bests. They'll have another week off with hopes of running even better times in two weeks at the Highlander Invitational hosted by NJIT on October 12th.
