Panthers Participate in First Meet of 2025

New York, NY - The Panthers headed to the Big Apple on Friday to participate in their first indoor track and field meet of the year!

The meet saw two Panther records broken: one by Amanda Salisbury and another by freshman Nick Burgess.  Salisbury participated in the high jump, leaping for 1.52 meters, breaking the previous record of 1.50 meters. She then proceeded to break it again by jumping 1.57 meters! On the other hand, Burgess marked his debut race by taking down Ryan Haak's 200m indoor record, lowering the mark to 22.87 seconds!

Other notable performances included a PR for TJ Hudson in the 60 meter dash (7.8 seconds) and a PR for Dhatri Sangasani in the 200 meter dash (31.73 seconds).  Ethan Nigro ran a 9.3 in the 60m hurdles, Jack Backus ran 58.58 in the 400m, Hari Conji leapt 4.94m in the long jump while Nithya Gutta jumped 4.13m and another 9.91m in the triple jump. Nigro jumped 11.3m in the men's triple while Hudson threw 12.42m in the weight throw.

The team will have about two weeks to prepare for their next meet on February 1st in Northampton, MA for the Yankee Small College Invitational.
