Newark, NJ - The Panther women's team was able to keep up its momentum from last weekend, competing In a heavy NCAA D3 field at NJIT this weekend. In the over 100-woman Open 5k, ACPHS placed 2 in the top-25 and 4 in the top-50 to finish 3rd out of 12 teams.
Lucia Sushynski (Saratoga Springs, NY) was the top ACPHS finisher, running 21:41.
Kayleigh Simpson (Utica, NY) was next, matching her all time best in the 5k, 22:18, good for 25th place. Freshman
Pooja Venkatesh (Vestal, NY) and
Jayden Bourgeois (Ava, NY) were 30th and 41st, respectively.
Krystal Ogoke Bowie, MD) took a minute off her best time on this course and 30 seconds off her 5k PR to round out the scoring 5.
Giselle Campbell (Liverpool, NY) and
Katie Bishop completed the squad with Bishop taking more than 5 minutes off her course time from last year!
On the men's side,
Kevin Andrews Buffalo, NY) led an incomplete men's team. Andrews took nearly a minute off his best ever 8k performance to run 33:12. Closely behind was
Tyler Buffolino (Ridge, NY) also running 33:12.
Dylan Wang (Glenmont, NY) continued an impressive junior campaign, running 33:33.
Daniel Le (Guam) rounded out the Panther squad by taking nearly 3 minutes off his best ever 8k, from a 40:01, down to 37:15.
The Panthers continue their final week of an intense 3 week stretch in Springfield, MA for the Western New England Golden Bear Invite on October 18th.
