Women's XC Tops Conference Opponent

Pottersville, NY - Panthers XC got a taste of conference action on Saturday at Word of Life for the 2025 Huskies Invite. The women kicked off the action in the 6k, putting 5 runners in the top 15 to finish 2nd overall.  Lucia Sushynski  (Saratoga Springs, NY) took a minute off her best effort to finish third overall, followed closely by Ophelia Breen (Peru, NY) in 7th. Freshman Jayden Bourgeois (Ava, NY) took more than two minutes off her best effort to finish 10th. Fellow freshman, Pooja Venkatesh (Vestal, NY) was 12th, and senior Kayleigh Simpson (Utica, NY) rounded out the top 5 in 14th. The Panthers finished ahead of conference foes Paul Smiths and Word of Life.

On the men's side, it was a day of gutsy performances. The men's course posed some big challenges including a massive hill at Mile 4. Dylan Wang (Glenmont, NY) paced the men's team finishing 19th overall. He was followed by Kevin Andrews (Buffalo, NY), Matthew Shakow (Saratoga Springs, NY), Rotimi Adeshina (Brooklyn, NY), and Daniel Le (Guam). The men's team finished 5th overall.

Georgian visitors, Truett-McConnell won both the men's and women's races.

Your Panthers are back next week for a fast race in Newark, NJ at the 2025 NJIT Highlander Invite.
