Northampton, MA - The Panthers set out to the Bay State to compete in their second indoor track and field meet of the year!
The meet saw six Panthers break a school record - sophomore Nithya Gutta (Guilderland,NY) triple jumped 10.28 meters while freshman Cecilia Chen broke a record for the women's shot put with 8.66m in her college debut. Senior Timothy Hudson (Hanford, CA) broke the men's weight throw record with a throw of 14.35m while Cooper Spaulding pole vaulted 2.35 meters. Freshmen Ophelia Breen (mile) and Nicholas Kuban (5000m) set records in their races with times of 6:19 and 20:09, respectively.
Another notable performance was that Nick Burgess finished 1st overall in the 200m dash with a time of 23.06. Across all opponents the men finished 5th overall (1st of all YSCC schools) while the women finished 7th (1st of all YSCC schools).
The team will have a week to get ready for their next meet on February 8th in Utica, NY for the Blue and Orange Invitational.
