Panthers Compete at the Elms College Blazer Classic

Chicopee, MA - The Panther harriers followed up a great weekend of home cooking with a strong performance on the road in the Bay State at Elms College's Blazer Classic.

The ladies led things off across the challenging terrain of Chicopee Memorial State Park in the 6000m distance. Following her 2nd place finish last weekend, Lucia Sushynski paced the Panthers, finishing in a time of 26:36, good for 10th overall. Freshman Jayden Bourgeois led a trio of Panther finishers including Kayleigh Simpson and fellow freshman, Pooja Venkatesh, all sneaking in under the 30:00 minute mark. In spite of the conditions, Krystal Ogoke and Giselle Campbell both set new 6k PRs. Jolly Wahba and Sandy Abdelmalek both debuted at the 6k distance and finished 36th and 40th, respectively. Katie Bishop nearly hit a new PR, finishing strong to complete the team. The women's team finished 3rd overall in the NCAA D3 field.

On the men's side, Tyler Buffolino was again the Panthers top men's performer, finishing 20th overall. Kevin Andrews made strong 2nd half moves to finish 32nd, while fellow junior, Dylan Wang, came in at 39th. Daniel Le was 4th across for the team helping push 8000m debutant, Rotimi Adeshina through the race. The pair finished 42nd and 43rd.

The Panthers take the next two weeks off to prepare for the back half of the season. They'll return October 4th at Word of Life for a conference-heavy battle on the banks of Schroon Lake.
