Box Score 1 Albany, NY - The men's soccer team opened their season with two road games: one at SUNY ESF and another at Bryant & Stratton.
The team traveled to Syracuse where they took on SUNY ESF over the weekend. Almost half of the team's starters were freshman and the inexperience showed. They simply could not get into a groove and ultimately lost 4-0.
The team came back to Albany where they played cross town rival Bryant & Stratton on Wednesday evening. The Panthers scored their first goals of the season, one from freshman
Jayden Martey (Bloomfield, CT), and another from junior
Ian Rathbun (Queensbury, NY). Despite scoring twice, Bryant & Stratton controlled the ball for most of the game and ultimately won the match 3-2.
The team will regroup and focus on their next match on Saturday September 6th when they travel north to play SUNY Adirondack.
