Kanawada

Christine Kanawada

Coach Kanawada will enter her 10th season as the head coach of the women's soccer program in the fall of 2019. Prior to her promotion, Kanawada served as the college's assistant coach during the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Kanawada was named Director of Athletics at ACPHS in 2016, after serving as the Assistant Director of Athletics since 2012.

Kanawada grew up in the Capital District, attending Guilderland Central High School where she was a Section II All-Star and Class "A" Goalkeeper of the Year. Kanawada holds an Associate's Degree in Sports and Recreation Management from Tiffin University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sports and Recreation Management from Concordia University Chicago.

Previous Coaching experience includes coaching for the Helderberg Soccer Club and serving five years as a head coach for the FC Dutchmen Soccer Club. Kanawada also served as the Director of FC Dutchmen's Shooting Stars program for two years. 

Kanawada has led the Panthers to winning the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) championships in 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2015.

In 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 the Panthers earned bids to the USCAA National Soccer Championship Tournament, advancing to the Final Four in 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2017. In 2015 the Panthers advanced to the National Championship final where they were the National Runners up.

Kanawada was named the HVIAC Women's Soccer Coach Of The Year in 2012, 2013, and 2018 and was named USCAA Women's National Soccer Coach Of The Year in 2017.

Kanawada has accumulated a 101-43-5 overall record in her tenure.
