The ACPHS men's basketball team was defeated by Berkeley College by a score of 82-57 on Sunday afternoon in a Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference matchup. With the loss, the Panthers go to 1-1 in the conference.
Zach Bratek (Dewitt, NY, Jamesville-Dewitt), the leading scorer for the Panthers, poured in a game-high 23 points and earned his fifth double-double of the season by grabbing 13 rebounds. Early in the first half, Bratek converted a layup to pull ACPHS to within two points, but Berkeley went on a quick 10-0 run to extend their lead to 20-8. As the half went on, the Knights picked up the pressure and were able to force 17 turnovers by the Panthers.
Peter Aiken (Pottersville, NY, North Warren) scored 12 points for ACPHS, while
Casey Redfern (Binghamton, NY, Chenango Forks) was the third player in double-figures, scoring 10 points.
