After an emotional win over St. Joseph's (NY) on Saturday night, the ACPHS men's basketball team could not keep the momentum going as they lost to Vaughn College by a score of 69-66 on Monday evening in Albany.
Vaughn held ACPHS to just 31% shooting from the field in the first half as the Warriors took a 38-30 lead into halftime. The Panthers continued their cold shooting, despite the best efforts of
Casey Redfern (Binghamton, NY, Chenango Forks) who scored 21 points, including connecting on 5 of 8 from three-point land. For the season, Redfern is shooting a scorching 47% on three-point shots. ACPHS had a few chances to tie or take the lead in the game's final minute, but could not get over the hump as they fell to 2-2 in the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference.
Ben Sheppard (Clifton Springs, NY, Midlakes)scored 18 points, in his second straight strong performance, while
Mickey Shrivastava (Westerly, RI, Westerly) added 12 points.
ACPHS travels to Pratt Institute on Saturday and returns to face off against Culinary Institute of America on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the regular season.
