The ACPHS Panthers clawed their way to victory Monday evening as they beat Hudson Valley Community College 56-54. Casey Redfern led the charge for the Panthers with 26 points and 6 rebounds.

The Panthers scored the first five points of the game before the Vikings were able to find the net.  The first half was neck and neck as both teams raced to take the lead.  Tied with 30 seconds remaining in the half Connor Maisch dropped a three pointer to send the Vikings into halftime with a 27-24 lead.

At the start of the second half, John Tremblay evened the score with a three pointer of his own. The Vikings answered and quickly racked up a 12 point lead. Determined, the Panthers clawed their way back as they were able to close the gap. With 7 minutes left to go in the game the score was tied at 46.

In a last ditch effort, the Vikings were able to score a three pointer bringing them within 2 points of the Panthers but the score remained 56-54 as they  were unable to overcome the Panthers defense.

Peter Aiken scored 14 points while John Tremblay, Vipul Chandhok and Tamer Elias each contributed five points towards the win.

The Panthers travel to Brooklyn on Saturday, February 4^th to play the Bears of St. Josephs at 7:30pm
