Redfern Scores 1,000th Career Point in ACPHS Victory

Casey Redfern scored his 1,000th career point on route to a game-high 29 points,as the ACPHS men's basketball team defeated Davis College by a score of 85-72 on Thursday night. The junior guard becomes just the 19th player in the history of the ACPHS men's basketball program to break the 1,000 point milestone.

Redfern ended the suspense early on in the game as he connected on a jump shot with just over five minutes gone in the opening half to break the 1,000 point barrier. The first half belonged to Redfern as he helped the Panthers get off to a great start with 16 points in the opening half, as ACPHS went into the break up by score of 38-32.

In the second half, ACPHS threatened to pull away on a number of different occassions but the Falcons get fighting back However, ACPHS used the inside prowess of Steven Brown who had 17 points and a game-high 19 rebounds to go along with Ryan McVaigh (10 points and nine rebounds) and Joe Britt (10 points and six rebounds). John Tremblay had an outstanding game, despite battling against foul trouble, as he dished out eight assists and had five steals.

With ACPHS holding onto a seven point lead with just over three minutes to play, Redfern hit a clutch three-point shot, followed by six straight points from Brown, as the Panthers were able to pull away for the victory.

ACPHS improves to 12-3 on the season as they return to the court on Saturday in a Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference matchup against St. Joseph's (NY).
