THREE-POINT BARRAGE TOO MUCH FOR PANTHERS IN LOSS TO SAINT JOSEPH (VERMONT)

BOX SCORE

Albany, N.Y. –
Senior forward Casey Redfern (Binghamton, N.Y.) scored 17 points and junior point guard John Tremblay (Schenectady, N.Y.) added 15 points and seven assists, but it was not enough as the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (3-4) dropped an 88-65 decision to visiting Saint Joseph (Vermont) in non-conference action Thursday evening at Albert M. White Gymnasium.

The Fighting Saints knocked down 15 three-pointers on 37 attempts, including an 11-22 performance in the first half, to keep the Panthers at bay all game. ACPHS trailed by 16 points at halftime and cut its deficit to 10 points with 11:45 remaining in the second half only to see CSJ answer with a three-pointer; the Fighting Saint lead never dropped below 12 points the rest of the way.

The Panthers jumped out to an early 4-0 lead before the first three of Saint Joseph's 15 trifectas found the bottom of the net to spark an 11-0 run that gave the Fighting Saints a lead they would never relinquish.

Sophomore forward Ryan McVaigh (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) chipped in 10 points, six assists, a team-high six rebounds and a pair of blocked shots for ACPHS while senior center Joe Britt (Lyons, N.Y.) tallied nine points and five rebounds. Redfern finished with five rebounds to go along with his game-high 17 points. Tremblay's seven assists were a season-high by a Panther.

Dee Anderson led the Fighting Saints with 15 points and eight rebounds on the night; he was joined in double figures by Josh McAfee (14 points, four assists), Michael Bowlers (13 points, seven rebounds, four blocks), Dre Anderson (13 points, five rebounds) and Ramel Anderson (12 points, seven rebounds, five assists).

ACPHS wraps up a five-game homestand at 4:00 pm Saturday, December 7 when SUNY Canton visits Albert M. White Gymnasium. The game is the second half of a Kangaroos-Panthers doubleheader with the women's contest tipping off at 2:00 pm and will serve as the final home game of the 2013 calendar year for the men's squad.
