ACPHS Men's Soccer Team Battles Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton

Bobcats score victory over Panthers, 4-0

Albany, NY – The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Men's Soccer Team hosted the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton College at the ACPHS Track & Field on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. The Panthers, who fell 3-2 to Vaughn College in a tough contest on Saturday, October 4 had little time recover. The Bobcats came out of the gates fast and controlled much of the action in the opening half. Rush and rush by the Bobcats kept ACPHS Goal Keeper, Matt Houlihan, busy in net as he faced multiple shots, corner kicks and headers from the attackers of Bryant and Stratton. At 13:18 remaining in the 1st half, the Bobcats finally got one past Houlihan, when Yussufe Olajide connected on a pass from teammate, Wilfred Ghanyea. At the end of the opening half the score was 1-0 in favor of the Bobcats.

The 2nd half saw the Bobcat pursuit continue and at 24:44 remaining the floodgates began to open. Even with continued great play from ACPHS Goal Keeper, Matt Houlihan, the Panthers could not contain the attack and play of Bryant and Stratton. The 2nd half saw goals by Shavon John-Brown, Erickson Alves and Arber Emerllahu.

The final tally was Bryant & Stratton 4 – ACPHS 0. The Panthers next face SUNY Canton at home on Tuesday, October 7.  For more information on the game and ACPHS Athletics, please visit www.acphsathletics.com OR contact Bill Jabour, Sports Information Coordinator, at 518.694.7304 or william.jabour@acphs.edu.
