Albany, NY – The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Men's Basketball team hosted Fisher College Falcons in the Panthers home opener on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Albert M. White Gymnasium at ACPHS.
In front of a great crowd for the ACPHS home opener, the Panthers stumbled out of the gates as the Falcons took advantage of the pace of play. The Falcons were led by Geodice Ortiz, Ira Haywood and Kyle Holmes early and jumped out to a 45-19 halftime lead. The Panthers regrouped at played a strong second half. ACPHS received strong performances by the entire team, which battled foul trouble throughout the game. Leading scorers for the Panthers were Emmanuel Okafor, who posted 10 points and 7 rebounds and defensively, Brandon Votra played solid for ACPHS and grabbed 11 rebounds. As the second half wound down, the Falcons secured a thirty point victory over ACPHS, 84-54.
The Panthers fall to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the HVIAC after a split in their opening weekend of the season. ACPHS next faces Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY on November 12.
