Albany, NY – The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Women's Basketball team hosted Fisher College Falcons in the Panthers home opener on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Albert M. White Gymnasium at ACPHS.
The Panthers stumbled out of the gates as Fisher College led by Christine Briggs (12 points and 15 rebounds) and Murphy Carroll (24 points and 6 rebounds) jumped out to an early lead in the opening half of play. The Panther regrouped and received strong leadership and play from their starting five of Megan Serley, Taylor Sullivan, Alexa Schooley, Rochelle Whitton and Dannie Griffin. Schooley and Sullivan began to heat up in the first half and led the Panthers to a 48-22 halftime lead.
ACPHS continued it's strong play against the Falcons of Fisher College who were facing an uphill battle and were in serious foul trouble for most of the second half. At the sound of the final horn, the Panthers had secured their season opener victory, 94-61. Panthers were led by Alexa Schooley who posted 24 points and 8 rebounds, Taylor Sullivan who netted 13 and grabbed 9 boards and Dannie Griffin who finished with 6 points and 11 rebounds.
