Panther Invitational - Results Day 1

Women's and Men's Team secure victories over HVIAC rivals King's College

Albany, NY – The Panthers of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences kicked off the annual Panther Invitational Tournament on Friday, September 5. Both the Women's and Men's team's secured 3-1 victories against HVIAC rivals King's College (NY). The Lady Panthers bounced back from a tough loss against Sage Colleges this past Wednesday, September 3 and improved their season record to 3-1. The ACPHS Men's team opened their season last night with a strong victory in the blazing heat to begin Head Coach Rich Komulainen's 30th season at the helm of the program.


The action at the Panther Invitational continues on Saturday, September 6 at 12:45 pm and 2:45 pm as King's College Women's and Men's teams face NHTI. The annual invitational tournament will conclude on Sunday, September 7 as the ACPHS Women's and Men's teams battle NHTI at 11 am and 1 pm.

Besides seeing some great soccer matches, the tournament is also a joint event with the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides" campaign. All fans and teams were in PINK yesterday and fans are encouraged to wear pink throughout the tournament to show their support to help in the fight against breast cancer. Anyone wearing pink was entered to win a variety of prizes from the College and American Cancer Society.
