Panthers victorious at home!

WBB earns victory over Vermont Tech

Albany, NY – The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Women's Basketball teams faced Vermont Tech on Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Albert M. White Gymnasium in their first home game following the Fall semester break.

The Panthers and the Knights came out of the gates slowly. Both teams got on track early and Vermont Tech jumped out to an early lead 7-6 lead. The Panthers then began to buckle down on defense and  turn in up on the offensive end going on an 18-3 run, earning them a 38-13 halftime lead.

At the beginning of the second half the Panthers continued to control the game with stingy defense and strong play on the offensive boards. The play of the Panthers was too much in the end for the Knights. At the sound of the final horn ACPHS had earned a strong victory at home, 76-31. ACPHS was led by Abbey Healy and Megan Serley who both finished with 12 points. Taylor Sullivan was the high game scorer with 13 points and 9 rebounds.

The Panthers improve their record to 9-3 and next face Yeshiva University in an HVIAC matchup on Sunday, January 25 at 1:00 p.m. at ACPHS. For more information visit www.acphsathletics.com OR contact Bill Jabour, Sports Information Coordinator, at 518.694.7304 or william.jabour@acphs.edu.
