ACPHS Women's Basketball lost their eighth straight game on Saturday, falling to the Davis College Falcons by a score of 70 to 42. The Panthers are now 1-12 on the year and 1-1 in the HVIAC, while Davis improved to 12-3 and 2-0 in the league.
The story of this game was Davis freshman Elizabeth Singleton, who continued her amazing freshman season with a final line of 30 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, four blocks, and two steals. Singleton almost single-handedly led Davis to a 20-7 lead in the opening 10 minutes, and the Falcons were able to see out the game from there. They forced the Panthers into 19 turnovers and scored 21 points on the fast-break alone. Davis forward Braedyn Mims also was able to fill the stat sheet, finishing with five points, ten rebounds, three blocks and three steals.
For the Panthers, they had three players score in double-figures, but continued to struggle from the field overall, making just 16 shots on 62 attempts (25.8%). Their leading scorer, junior forward
Olivia Parameter (Waddington, NY / Madrid Waddington Central), was dominant on both the offensive and defensive glass, grabbing 14 rebounds to go with her 14 points. Freshman guard
Clare Snell (Potsdam, NY / Parishville Hopkinton) and junior guard
Emma Webster (Cadyville, NY / Saranac High) netted 13 and 12 points respectively, and combined the Panthers all three made three-pointers.
Albany pick back up conference play on Saturday, February 2
nd, when they travel to the College of New Rochelle to face the Blue Angels at 1:00pm.
