Women's Basketball grabbed their first win of the season on Thursday, November 7
th, besting the newly-formed Word of Life/Davis College Huskies 73-14. The Panthers are now 1-1 overall. And 1-0 in the HVIAC.
Thursday was a huge night on both ends of the floor for Albany, as they were able to dominate the Huskies from start to finish. They scored the game's 14 points and closed out the first quarter already up 22-5. In the half, junior guard
Emily D'Abrosca recorded nine steals, part of 25 total turnovers forced by the Panthers. They held Word of Life to 4-24 shooting overall which led to 16 steals for the team in just 20 minutes.
In the second half, Albany let up just THREE points, and shutout the huskies 24-0 in the third quarter. In the end, four Panthers finished in double figures led by sophomore guard
Clare Snell's 24. Always one to fill the stat sheet, Snell added seven rebounds, five steals and four assists. Second-leading scorer was senior forward
Olivia Parmeter, who also posted an impressive line: 14 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals. Senior guard
Emma Webster and D'Abrosca rounded out the top-scorers with 11 and 10 respectively. ACP outscored the Huskies 50-6 in the paint, and 39-0 off of turnovers.
Albany will look to continue their winning ways on Saturday, November 9
th when they travel to Bryant & Stratton (Syracuse).
