Freshman
Mayle Lupia-Eannace scored four goals today, leading the Panthers to a 6-0 win over inter-city rival Bryant & Stratton (Albany). The win improved ACPHS' overall record to 2-3-2.
This was quite a dominant effort from the Panthers, who did not allow the Bobcats to attempt a single shot all game. Lupia-Eannace was a menace early and often, grabbing her first goal in the 8
th minute off of a feed from junior forward
Emily D'Abrosca. The freshman held up a long pass from junior goalie
Gabriella Evangelista and played a nice one-two combination with D'Abrosca before finishing past Bryant goalkeeper Madison Perez to give ACP an early 1-0 lead.
The Panthers' next goal was straight off the practice field, as freshman
Shannon Donnelly rolled a corner kick through everybody to find Lupia-Eannace who scored once again to double the lead. She completed her hat-trick in the 20
th minute, thanks to a perfect pass from junior defender
Emily Linehan.
Albany continued to dominate in the second half, scoring three more goals to put the game away. Junior forward
Elizabeth D'Amato-Neff had a big half, assisting Lupia-Eannace's fourth goal in the 69
th minute before grabbing one of her own in the 76
th. In between, D'Abrosca also scored off of another assist for Donnelly.
ACPHS outshot their opponent 22-0, putting 16 of those 22 efforts on target. Lupia-Eannace now has scored ten goals in her debut campaign, which not only leads the team but also leads the HVIAC. D'Abrosca is tied for fourth in the conference with three goals. Donnelly's two assists also put her up to first in the league with five.
Albany will continue their homestand this Friday, October 4
th, when they host Central Maine Community College at 5:00pm. Live video for the game will be streamed from the ACPHS Athletics Facebook page.
