Women's Basketball Routs Paul Smith's 82-16

The ACPHS Women's basketball team grabbed their seventh win of the season on Sunday, dominating the Paul Smith's College Bobcats to the tune of a 82-16 final scoreline. The Panthers are now 7-8 overall, while Paul Smith's currently stands at 0-15.

It was a huge performance by Albany right from the opening whistle, as the Panthers scored the game's first 13 points and went into the second quarter with a 23-4 lead. Those 24 points would have been enough to close out the game, as the ACPHS defense held the Bobcats to just four points in every quarter.

In game's like this, there's bound to be some huge stat lines, and Albany did not disappoint. Leading the way was senior forward Olivia Parmeter, who got inside at will and finished with a game-high 24 points. She also added five assists, four rebounds and three steals. Senior guard Emma Webster also had a big game, hitting six threes on her way to 18 points.

Other contributers included freshmen Hope Walker and Kayleigh Spellman. Walker, a regular starter in her first collegiate year, finished with 15 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, just three assists shy of a triple-double. Spellman nailed three threes off the bench and also provided one assist. Not to be out-shown was junior forward Emily D'Abrosca who tied for the team-lead with 12 rebounds.

Some other amazing stats from Sunday's game came from the large discrepancies in specialty points. Albany outscored Paul Smith's 49-0 in points off of turnovers, 34-10 in points in the paint, and 14-0 in second-chance points.

ACPHS will look to carry this momentum into next Friday when they resume conference play at home to Vaughn College at 5:00 PM.
