Women's Basketball Completes Trip to USCAA Nationals

Women's Basketball played their final game of the season on Monday, falling to the Penn State Fayette Nittany Lions by a score of 72-31. The Panthers finish with an overall record of 12-13, having won the HVIAC Tournament and made their first trip to the USCAA National Championship Tournament in three years.

ACPHS struggled in today's contest, scoring only nine points in the first half 22 in the second. Sophomore guard Clare Snell led Albany with 12 points to go along with five steals and four rebounds. Senior forward Olivia Parmeter, in her final collegiate game, recorded seven points and nine boards. Senior star Emma Webster, scored five points and provided two assists in her final outing for the Panthers.

Albany did have a disappointing few games in Pennsylvania this week, but that should not take away from what they've accomplished this year. In their first season under coach Jackie Hotaling, the Panthers went 3-1 in the HVIAC and took down top-seeded Berkeley College to earn the conference's bid to the USCAA National Tournament.

Individually, Albany had multiple outstanding performances throughout the season that helped them achieve their goals. Emma Webster, a senior from Cadyville, NY, was the named the 2019-20 HVIAC Player of the Year last week and scored her 1,000th collegiate point earlier this year. Clare Snell, a sophomore from Potsdam, NY, won the HVIAC Tournament MVP award, and was awarded First Team All-Conference. Olivia Parmeter, a senior from Waddington, NY, started every game this year and averaged 9.3 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game.

Albany will return Snell along with two other starters next season: freshman center Hope Walker and junior forward/guard Emily D'Abrosca. Congrats on a great season Panthers!
