Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Chad Boyles

Womens Soccer can't stop scoring as winning start continues

Albany, N.Y. – The ACPHS women's soccer team defeated Central Maine Community College 5-1 to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.  The win over the weekend gives the Panthers their second conference win and their fifth overall.

A hattrick from Junior forward Julia Roemer (Latham, NY/Shaker) led the attack.  The impressive goal scorer now has seven goals in her last two matches and 10 on the season.

The game never looked like being much of a contest.  The Panthers ended the day with 25 shots and 17 on target.  Central Maine tallied just six shots with four on target.  YSCC Player of the Week Emily D'Abrosca (Cumberland, RI/Mount St. Charles Academy) and Sophomore midfielder Lindsay Beach (Ogdensburg, NY/Ogdensburg Free Academy) joined Roemer on the scoresheet.

The five-goal performance means that ACPHS has notched 37 goals in their first five games.  The Mustangs only goal Saturday was the first that the Panthers had conceded all season.  The Panthers goal count sits strongly atop the USCAA as the side remain first in the coaches' poll.

ACPHS will look to continue winning ways this Wednesday, September 22nd at MCLA.  Kick off is at 6:00 PM
