Women's Soccer Continues Unbeaten Run at MCLA

courtesy of MCLA Athletics
Box Score North Adams, MA -  Women's Soccer took their record to 6 - 0 with a win over the MCLA Trailblazers on Wednesday night.

It was an inauspicious start for the Panthers, who allowed the Trailblazers to score off a set-piece at the 15 minute mark, but these Panthers are a well-disciplined and confident group. Just under two minutes later, strong Panther pressure would lead to a mistake and a poor clearance leading to an MCLA own goal. The Panthers and Trailblazers traded shots through the rest of the first half, with neither team able to break the deadlock.

In the second half, the Panthers regrouped and put together some clinical finishes to put the game away. Emily D'Abrosca (Cumberland, RI/Mount St. Charles Academy) continued her amazing scoring run, netting her eighth goal of the season in the 63rd minute. Not to be outdone, Julia Roemer (Latham, NY/Shaker)
picked up a pass from D'Abrosca to score her eighth of the season in the 74th minute. Roemer and D'Abrosca's goals would prove to be decisive as the game ended 3-1.

The Panthers have been tenacious on offense outscoring all opponents 40-2 this season in all competitions and look to keep the momentum going at home this Saturday at 3:00pm against Southern Maine Community College.
