Paul Smith's, NY - Both soccer teams took a trip up to Paul Smith's Wednesday evening to play in their first doubleheader of the season!
The women kicked off first against the Bobcats in a very back and forth game. The Panthers got off twenty shots throughout the course of the game, which was double the Bobcats total, but was unable to find the back of the net despite nine of those shots being on goal. The Bobcats luck was just the same as they were also unable to score and the game ended in a scoreless tie.
After the completion of the women's game, the men kicked off shortly after. Senior superstar Ian Rathbun (Queensbury, NY) scored his 11th goal of the season about a half hour into the game off a penalty kick. After that things got very intense. There were four yellow and two red cards handed out, all of which but one were given to the Panthers. Paul Smith's capitalized by scoring four goals, including three during an eight-minute stretch. The 4-1 score went on to be the final.
Both teams will look forward to their Saturday doubleheader against UME Augusta, which will be Senior Day for both the men and women! Be sure to show your support for the Panthers with the doubleheader starting at 11am!
