Auburn, ME - The Panthers headed up to Maine on Saturday morning for an afternoon game against the Central Maine Mustangs. This matchup was a rematch of last Fall's YSCC Championship game.
The Panthers wanted to go up to Maine and try and steal a game from the Mustangs. They knew this matchup was going to be one of the toughest matchups they've had all year, going toe to toe with a team they know well. The result was sadly not in favor of the Panthers by the games end as they fell to Central Maine 5-0. Though the result was the way it was, the Panthers did not have a bad game. At one point, the Mustangs commentator even was heard saying "The Panthers are not playing bad whatsoever." The Panthers opportunities were just shut down by the Mustangs, however, they were able to record 16 shots during the contest. Leading the Panthers this game was
Sahil Arora (Waterford, NY) and
Vincent DeVito (Saratoga Springs, NY) who both ripped off 4 shots each during this game. The Panthers also saw goalie
Ryan Herrick (Massena, NY) total 15 saves during the game, which is career high, and ties him for third for most saves in one single game by a Panther.
The Panthers will have a couple days to rest, and recover for their matchup against Word of Life on Tuesday night 10/3 at home starting at 7PM.
