Augusta, ME - The Panthers headed up to Maine to take on UMaine Augusta for a YSCC matchup. This is the Panthers first time playing the Moose, since they just added soccer this year.
The Panthers hot off their win last game, were looking to continue their win streak. As the YSCC playoffs draw closer and closer, the Panthers are looking to position themselves in a place that will hopefully lead them back to the National Championship. The first half, the Panthers came out firing, racking up shot after shot.
Ka'ena Kehano (Wailuku, HI) continued her impressive season scoring her first goal in the sixteenth minute to put the Panthers up 1-0. Raegan Wendal (Clifton Park, NY) got her first goal of the season to help increase the Panther lead to two. The Panthers saw two more goals in the first half, one coming from
Julia Roemer (Latham, NY) and
Mya Wright (Liverpool, NY).
The Panthers came out of halftime and were looking to continue their already strong play. Three minutes into the second half,
Shannon Donnelly (Bethlehem, NY) was able to find Kehano who scored again. Kehano four minutes later was able to find Wright to help Wright notched her second goal of the game. The Panthers would get one more goal by Roemer to help the Panthers secure a 7-0 win over the Moose.
The next two games have been a cancel and an opponent forfeit, which will mean the Panthers end their regular season on this win. They will await the results from the rest of the conference for the week to see where they finish in the conference for the playoffs. Until then, the Panthers will look to rest up, and prepare themselves for championship season as hey look to repeat as National Champions.
