Paul Smith's, NY - The Panthers started their conference play for the season against Paul Smith's College on the road. With an already strong start to their non conference play, they wanted to start the conference schedule off strong. In the end it was the Panthers that came away with another twenty plus point win.
The Panthers seemed to go into this conference matchup looking to make a big statement that they are not a team to be messed with this year. The Panthers started out this game strong, building up a sizable lead. The Panthers were holding their ground on both ends of the court, with their consistently strong defense, and their great offensive strategy. As the Panthers started to find their groove, the Bobcats started to find theirs. The were going back and forth for the rest of the first half, and the Panthers were only up by three going into halftime.
In the second half, the Panthers strong played showed more, as they pulled away from the Bobcats. They were able to outscore the Bobcats by twenty in the half, and had stellar defense holding the Bobcats to just twenty two points. The Panthers would take this game by a score of 75-52 giving them their first conference win of the still young season. Sophomore
Abe Pogue (Oradell, NJ) led all scorers with a 21 point performance, and grabbing 11 rebounds for a double-double, and finished with 4 steals. Sophomore
Brett Richards also had a strong game with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Sophomore
Myles Washington (Washington, D.C.) had a strong performance himself finishing as the third Panther in double figures with 11 points, and 3 assists. Jalon Muñoz (Helotes, TX) was the last Panther in double figures as he finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. Overall the Panthers shot just under 50% from the field, while holding the Bobcats to under 30%.

The Panthers will have the whole week to get ready for a strong conference opponent in NHTI. They will look to take another game in the conference to continue their strong early season play.
