Albany, NY - The Panthers played their first conference game of the season. Coming off a big win against Landmark the week prior, the Panthers were ready for some conference play. The Lynx and Panthers went back and forth all game which made for a great conference game.
The game started off on a very good note as both the Lynx and Panthers went back and forth. The first quarter ended in a 12-12 tie with Freshmen
Skyley Ramsey (Black Hawk, CO) leading the way for the Panthers with 8 points. While the second quarter saw the Panthers fall behind as the Lynx were able to connect on some shots. Sophomore
Ejoraa Ninche (Selden, NY) led the Panthers in rebounds for the Panthers with 8 for the half. Ninche was making her way to a doube-double as she also was able to get 6 points during the half. Ramsey continued to lead the Panthers in points as she finished the half with 11. Freshmen
Adriana Yuret (Mayfield, NY) was also playing well on the boards as she herself grabbed 6 rebounds. Junior
Anna Jensen (Valley Falls, NY) dropped 7 points and 3 rebounds in the first half. The Panthers were facing a seven point deficit going into halftime.
The Panthers came out of halftime looking strong, and shot better then the Lynx. Although the Panthers shot better, the Lynx got half their points in the quarter from the line. Ramsey continued to score the ball for the Panthers dropping another 5 in the quarter. Ninche continued her rebounding ways, grabbing 8 in the third quarter, bringing her total for the game so far to 16. Freshmen
Ally Bosarge (Port Henry, NY) also helped in the third with 6 points and 2 steals. The fourth quarter the Panthers outscored the Lynx with Ninche, Jensen and
Grace Halayko (Guilderland, NY) leading the way with 4 points each. Ninche would also grab 3 more rebounds, putting her tied for 7th for most rebounds in a single game. The Panthers worked hard to try and complete the comback, with Yuret jumping on every ball she could forcing 5 jump balls to switch possession back and forth in the fourth. In the end though, every time the Panthers made their way back, the Lynx would hit a shot, or free throws to make it harder. The Panthers lost in a close game losing 57-54 to the Lynx.
The Panthers will take some time off and get ready to bounce back as they take on Word of Life at home on December 6th.
