Albany, NY - The Panthers were back at home after a heartbreaking loss on the road two days prior. Being at home, with an electrifying crowd behind them, the Panthers came ready to bounce back. In the end, the Panthers would bounce back, and get a very big win in front of the home crowd.
The first half saw the Panthers dominate right from the tip. With the Mechanics from Williamson College of the Trades in town for this matchup, the Panthers opened up hot. Although the Mechanics got to shoot a technical free throw before the tip off, that one point would be the only one for the Mechanics in the first seven minutes. The Panthers defense was steady in this one, as they forced the Mechanics to zero field goals for the first seven minutes. Right from the tip, you could tell the Panthers were going to control this game. The team found themselves up by double digits within the first eight minutes of action. The Panthers dominance carried over into the second half as the Panthers hot shooting continued. The team shot over fifth five percent, and everyone on the team was getting involved on the offensive end. Seven different Panthers scored in the second half, showing you how fun and diverse this team will be able to be throughout the season. The bench for the Panthers also came in and did their jobs, especially on defense.
Logan Yohe (Delmar, NY) got 3 steals in the span of 90 seconds. Nate Lynes (Miami, FL) came up with 2 steals himself on top of 6 other steals from five different players.
Abe Pogue (Oradell, NJ) found his groove and was able to get himself up to 9 points and 9 rebounds to almost secure the double double as well as get 2 steals himself. Carillo also finished the game with 9 points and 4 assists for the Panthers.

After the game, head coach
Robert Coleman was asked his thoughts on winning big in front of the home crowd. His response was "It feels good when you win the right way. Wheater that be a blowout or a one point victory. Just playing the right way feels good. I think coming off of a loss, where we feel like we didn't really play the right way, kind of getting back to what we can do and actually doing it feels good." He was then asked about the Panthers matchup against neighbor Sage on Wednesday. He responded saying, "I am looking at it as our out of conference schedule is preparing us for our conference schedule. Sage is going to be a very tough opponent. They are long, and athletic and those are similar to the teams we have to play against. Our preparation is the same as it has always been because we have to get ready for our conference opponents that really mirror what Sage does."
After his performance, and almost getting a double double,
Abe Pogue was asked how it feels to win in blowout fashion at home. His response was, "It feels good! As a team, we all feel good. We ran our sets right, and we had a lot of hustle. I almost had a double double, Brett had a double double, it just feels good. Two in a row at home." He was then asked how he thought he played individually. He responded saying, "I feel like I could have played a little better, but I am happy we got the win. It is a team game, and I am just happy we got the win. Be ready Sage."
The Panthers will prepare themselves as they take on neighbor Sage College Wednesday at Sage with tip off happening at 7:00PM.
