MSOC Story vs Cobleskill

Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Ties on the Road

Cobleskill, NY - Men's soccer was on the road Wednesday after to take on the Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill. They were looking to steal a win on the road, but came away with a tie.

Just like the Panthers game against Southern Maine, they were ready to play and wanted to get the win. During the first half, the Panthers were able to rack up a lot of early opportunities to try and jump out in front, and the Tigers were able to put a stop to any drive. The Panthers started the game with two early corner kicks to try and find the back of the net, but Cobleskill was able to clear the ball, giving nothing to the Panthers. The game went back and forth throughout the first half with both teams statistically playing even. The Panthers put together a total of 5 shots in the first half, and Senior goalie Ryan Herrick (Massena, NY) totaled 3 saves.

In the second half, the Panthers really tried to take control while putting together a lot of opportunities that, like the first half were getting stopped by the Tigers. The Panthers came out on the attack with 4 shots in the first 7 minutes of the second half. As a team they were able to total 14 shots for the half, with 7 on target. The Panthers were led by Senior Gavin Carvey, (Cato, NY) Junior Jay Carlson, (Saratoga Springs, NY) and Freshmen Vincent DeVito (Saratoga Springs, NY) who each had 2 shots on goal. Defense looked to be a big factor in this one, as they were able to hold the Tigers as well to zero goals.

The Panthers will have short rest as they gear up for a busy weekend against two conference opponents. They play next at Paul Smith's College on Friday night at 7PM and look to start the weekend strong.
