Volleyball Season Comes to an End

Box Score

Pottersville, NY - The women's volleyball team traveled up to Word of Life to take on the Huskies in a play-in game for the YSCC Tournament on Tuesday evening.

The Panthers started the game hot, jumping to an 8-3 lead in the first set.  Then the Huskies flipped the script to go on a 9-1 run of their own to take a 12-9 lead. After that, it was a lot of back and forth, with 5 ties and a couple lead changes. Eventually, the Panthers found themselves up 22-20, but then the Huskies caught fire and ended the set on a 5-0 run to win 25-22.

Riding their hot finish, the Huskies jumped to an 8-1 lead early in the second. The Panthers crawled their way back, eventually cutting the lead down to 1, 15-14.  After that, for every point the Panthers scored, it felt like the Huskies scored twice.  The Huskies eventually won the set 25-19.

In the third, the Huskies quickly built a 9-3 lead, but just like in the second, pretty much every point the Panthers scored, the Huskies answered with two of their own.  Unable to gain any momentum, the Panthers ultimately lost the set 25-10, giving the Huskies the 3-0 victory to move on to the YSCC Final Four.

As for the Panthers, it concludes their third season since their inception.  Finishing with a 3-7 regular season record, it marked the season with the highest win percentage thus far.  The team will begin their offseason and look forward to next year.
