Box Score Albany, NY - The men's volleyball team closes out the 2025/26 campaign with a sweep over the Word of Life Huskies on Tuesday night!
Before the game, the team took some time to honor their only senior - Caden Dang (Escondido, CA). Dang has been on the team since its inception last year and has made an impact on the court as the setter, and off the court as the team captain.
The ACPHS community showed up for the Panthers final home game of the year, bringing an electricity to the game that you could only find at our school. Using the momentum of the crowd, the Panthers won the first set with relative ease by a score of 25-17.
In the second set, the Panthers found themselves in a 5-point hole early, but then the crowd once again got into the game and gave them enough life to complete the comeback and win the set 25-22.
The third set was the most exciting. They jumped to a 6-0 lead early, but the Huskies fought their way back to tie it a few times to make it a constant back and forth between the two teams. For a while, especially towards the end, it felt like every time the Panthers would score, the Huskies would answer. Eventually the game was tied 24-24, heading into extra play.
Fear not, the Panthers were leading 27-26 when Moustafa Hassan (Jersey City, NJ) hit the game winning kill to give the Panthers the sweep.
There are many words to describe how this year went for all of athletics, but it was a memorable one nonetheless. The Panthers will head into summer with high hopes for the final season of Panther Athletics next year before ACPHS merges with Russell Sage College and athletics will be taken over by the Gators.
