After three straight wins to open the season, the ACPHS men's soccer team lost by a score of 2-1 to Hudson Valley Community College on Thursday afternoon.
Just seven minutes into the game, the Vikings struck first as Miguel Pinto corralled a corner kick and was able to get the ball past the Panther goalie,
Adam Hoye-Simek (Broadalbin, NY, Broadalbin-Perth). The HVCC didn't last long as
Andrew Levy (Glenville, NY, Burnt Hills) scored his first goal of the season as he blasted a shot from almost 20 yards out into the back of the net to even the score.
HVCC struck again with six minutes remaining in the half to go up by one, in what proved to be the game-winning goal. ACPHS had numerous chances in the second half, but was unable to even the score.
ACPHS returns to action on Saturday as they host HVMAC rival Culinary Institute of America.
