Micaela Mitchell (Ogdensburg, NY, Ogdensburg Free Academy) scored two goals and had an assist and Alexa Schooley (Auburn, NY, Union Springs) added a goal and an assist as the ACPHS women's soccer team improved to 5-0 on the season with a 5-3 victory at SUNY Delhi on Saturday afternoon.

The game didn't start off on a good note for the Panthers as the host Broncos scored two goals within the first 10 minutes of the game to stake a commanding 2-0 lead. On a direct kick, Kari McCabe (Fort Edward, NY, South Glens Falls) was able to find Frances Ripepi (Amsterdam, NY, Amsterdam) who beat the Delhi keeper and brought the Panthers to within one goal. Late in the first half, Mitchell scored on a penalty kick to even the score.

Tied at halftime, ACPHS came out and quickly took the lead on another goal from Mitchell off an assist from Schooley. After Delhi evened the score at three, ACPHS was awarded another penalty kick, which was converted by Schooley to give the Panthers a 4-3 lead.

Freshman Gabriella Diecidue (Poughkeepsie, NY, Spackenkill) scored her first career goal for ACPHS from an assist from Mitchell to make the final score 5-3.

Christine Roman (Chittenango, NY) made seven saves in net for the victory.
