The ACPHS men's soccer team received two goals and an assist from
Alessandro Macchiarelli (Broadalbin, NY, Broadalbin-Perth) as they defeated the Culinary Institute of America by a score of 4-2 on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, ACPHS improves to 4-0 on the season as they claimed their first conference win of the young season.
Macchiarelli started the scoring in the 17th minute of the game, scoring off on assist from
Steve Sullivan (Broadalbin, NY, Broadalbin-Perth). Just two minutes later, the Steels evened the score with a goal of their own. With just over five minutes remaining in the first half,
Anthony Changelo (Rouses Point, NY, Northeastern Clinton) put ACPHS back on top, scoring off an assist from a corner kick from Macchiarelli.
In the second half, after CIA tied the game at two,
Will Tarantino (Cohoes, NY, Shaker) scored his first goal of the season to give ACPHS a 3-2 advantage, and Macchiarelli scored his second goal of the game with just a few minutes remaining in the game to account for the final score.
Adam Hoye-Simek (Broadalbin, NY, Broadalbin-Perth) had six saves in net for the victory.
