After the first half of Thursday night's women's basketball game, ACPHS held a slim two-point lead over Hamilton College, but the Panthers couldn't hang on, falling by a score of 53-45.
Alyson Johnson scored a team-high 16 points and pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds to help the Panthers stay close, but ACPHS was undone by 25 turnovers.
The opening 20 minutes of the game was a defensive struggle as neither team was able to find its rhythm on the offensive end. With five minutes remaining in the half, ACPHS was down 15-12, but scored the final five points of the half to take the lead into the break.
In the second half, Hamilton was able to convert the Panthers' turnovers into points on the other end of the court as they slowly built their lead.
Taylor Sullivan scored a on a jump shot to put ACPHS to within six points, with just under two minutes to play, but the Continentals converted their free throws, thwarting any possible comeback. Sullivan contributed 10 points for ACPHS, while
Alex Oaks added nine points and six steals.
