Sisson Keeps Panthers Alive

Freshman Midfielder Faith Sisson scored her first collegiate goal against SUNY ESF in the 82nd minute to tie the game and send the Panthers into overtime.

The Panthers maintained possession for the majority of the first half but the Mighty Oaks defense thwarted any scoring opportunities leaving the Panthers scoreless going into halftime.

The Mighty Oaks struck first in the second half scoring a goal just two minutes after the start. As the clock ticked down, the Panthers remained determined and their persistence finally payed off when Sisson found the back of the net with a one touch blast off of a rebound from 40 yards out.

Both teams fought hard but were unable to score the golden goal in either of the two consecutive overtimes. Alexandra Weston made seven saves in net for the Panthers, including some amazing saves in overtime to keep the Panthers in the game.

The Panthers play again on Thursday, October 11th when they make the short trip across the river to play Hudson Valley Community College.
